Smarter Conversations. Better Access. For Every Patient.

Welcome back to the InTouchNow.ai Community!

Hello and welcome to the October edition of the InTouchNow.ai newsletter. This month brings important updates for general practices, exciting news from the field, and a peek at what we’re doing at InTouchNow.ai to help you stay ahead.

We’re excited to confirm that the InTouchNow.ai team will be at Best Practice Birmingham 2025 on 8–9 October at the NEC.

If you are attending, you can find us at Stand F30 where you’ll be able to:

  • Experience our conversational AI first hand with live demos happening throughout the two-day event.
  • Try our interactive ‘Who’s who?’ game: the tables have turned, and our AI is now taking on the role of various patient personas, can you guess who’s calling?
  • Meet the team – we’re here for you to ask questions, share your practice challenges and find out how practices like yours are reducing pressure through InTouchNow.AI.
The team are excited to showcase some of the things we’ve been working on, and are looking forward to seeing faces old and new – so please drop by our stand for a chat and a coffee!

The team have been hard at work, and we’re proud to share that our AI now supports booking appointments through EMIS via AI Computer use! We know that for some of you this has been a highly desired feature.

But what does AI computer use mean for practices?

Simply put this feature enables our AI to operate within EMIS performing the same tasks that a recepionist would.

Once we have configured the AI to match your practices unique processes and workflows our Voice AI is able to:

  1. Answer calls
  2. Collect patient details and reason for call
  3. Access EMIS and navigate the appropriate pages
  4. Complete tasks just as a receptionist would (logging/cancelling appointments, amending details etc.)

Thinking of how this can be utilised at your practice? We’d love to hear any ideas you may have and will be happy to work on any unique use cases you may have in mind!

Stay tuned for future updates as we look to expand our computer use AI to include SystmOne.

As of this month, new changes to GP contact access requirements (announced in the NHS Long-Term Plan and outlined in the Fit for the Future report) are now in force.

But what’s changed?

  • Practices must now ensure patients can contact them throughout core hours via digital channels, not just via telephone.
  • This includes ensuring digital triage routes (such as online forms) remain available during peak periods, rather than being switched off to manage demand.
  • The changes aim to create a more equitable and consistent access experience, but we know they also add operational strain.
