About the role
InTouchNow AI is looking for a Data Engineer to build and scale the data platform behind our AI receptionist for NHS general practice. Based at our Borehamwood office on a hybrid pattern, you will own the pipelines, warehouse models and analytics infrastructure that power our internal analytics, customer reporting and AI evaluation work.
You will work across product, operations, commercial and customer success, turning millions of production call events, application logs and business signals into trustworthy, well-modelled data. This is a foundational role: your work will underpin how the business runs, how customers see their impact, and how our AI improves over time.
What you will do
- Design, build and maintain reliable batch and streaming data pipelines from our production systems into the data warehouse.
- Model core business, product and customer data into clean, well-documented layers ready for analytics and reporting.
- Own the warehouse (Snowflake or BigQuery), including schema design, performance, cost and access control.
- Build and maintain transformation pipelines using dbt or similar tools.
- Support internal dashboards, customer-facing analytics and AI evaluation datasets with high-quality, trusted data.
- Work with product and operations to instrument new events, define metrics and set up the data behind new features.
- Improve data quality, monitoring, alerting and lineage across the platform.
- Collaborate with the wider engineering team on data contracts, event schemas and downstream integrations.
- Support the AI Research and analytics teams by preparing datasets, features and evaluation harnesses.
What we are looking for
- At least 4 years’ data engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data modelling for analytics.
- Production experience with a modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks).
- Experience building transformation pipelines with dbt (or a strong equivalent).
- Comfortable building data pipelines in Python, including working with APIs, event streams and scheduled workflows.
- Experience with an orchestration tool (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect or similar).
- Solid understanding of data quality, testing and observability.
- Willingness and ability to commute to our Borehamwood office regularly as part of a hybrid working pattern.
Nice to have
- Experience with streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub) or real-time analytics.
- Experience with reverse ETL, product analytics tooling or customer-facing analytics.
- Experience with information governance, data protection or working with health data.
- Experience supporting AI or ML teams with data infrastructure.
- Familiarity with UK healthcare, NHS primary care or telephony data.
What you will get
- Competitive salary of £65,000 to £85,000 per year.
- Private health insurance.
- Free on-site office parking.
- 20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Workplace pension scheme.
- Discretionary bonus.
- Opportunity to join the company share scheme.
- Hybrid working arrangement, with regular time at our Borehamwood office.
- Opportunities for professional development and progression as the company grows.
